Parcel Locker ROI Calculator for Building Managers
Parcels cost a building in two ways: the staff time spent receiving, logging and handing them over, and the parcels that go missing or end up in a dispute. This calculator compares those costs with the cost of a parcel locker that you enter. Replace every default with your own numbers. The calculation runs in your browser and nothing is sent anywhere.

How the numbers work
- Staff hours today = parcels per day × days a year × minutes per parcel ÷ 60.
- Staff hours with lockers use the minutes per parcel that still reach the desk: oversize items and exceptions.
- Yearly saving = hours saved × your hourly cost, plus the cost of lost or disputed parcels you no longer have.
- Payback = locker hardware and installation ÷ (yearly saving − software).
- Cost per lot spreads the first year’s hardware, installation and software across the apartments that share it, which is how a strata committee will usually look at it.
The locker cost is yours to enter. Until you have a quote, use the rough guide below. To size the bank first, see parcel locker sizes.
Rough locker prices
A small bank of about 10 cells with a courier touchscreen typically comes in at a few thousand dollars, roughly A$3,000–7,000 ex GST. A building system of 50–100 cells is roughly A$12,000–30,000 ex GST. On top of that there is a flat monthly software fee of around A$150 per building, with no per-parcel or resident fees. Delivery and installation are quoted per site, and your quote fixes the price.Price enquiry

What the calculator leaves out
Some benefits are real but hard to put a number on. Residents can collect at 2 am. Couriers spend less time in the lobby and the lifts. And the building has a record of exactly when each parcel arrived and who collected it, which settles “my parcel never came” in seconds. If the numbers above are close, weigh those up too. If they are far apart, a locker is probably not worth it yet.
